Making Waves for the Planet!
The forum is supported by our Marine Conservation team based at the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre, New Quay. Established in May 2021 as part of the Stand For Nature Wales project, the dedicated and passionate young people who make up the forum have gone from strength to strength. From appearing on ITV Wales’ Coast and Country to raising their concerns with Ben Lake MP for Ceredigion to creating their own climate change documentary (which you can watch here).
It’s the first year that there has been a category to recognise ‘Youth Climate Change Champions’ and the forum are honoured to be the first recipients of this award!
Laura Evans, Marine Conservation Project Officer said “the young people in our forum have worked hard over the past few years to raise awareness of climate change in the marine environment and to inspire the community to take climate action. It’s been a privilege to work with environmentally minded young people who give us hope for the future!”
Thanks to the Nature Networks Fund, we were thrilled to be able to continue to support the Living Seas Youth Forum with their marine conservation work.
If you’re aged 9-24, living in Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire or Carmarthenshire and interested in joining the youth forum then please contact Laura Evans at cbmwc@welshwildlife.org or call 01545 560224.
