Your fundraising stories

Gina's story

Gina, our Marketing and Development Manager undertook her first ever Half Marathon to raise money for a #WilderFuture.

"On the 12th June I’ll be taking part in the #RunWILD half marathon (13 miles!) to raise funds for The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales. The impact of COVID 19 on the charity have been devastating and they need to raise funds to ensure our precious wildlife is protected and that the Trust has a future."

Madi's story

Madison is undertaking a spring Triathlon to raise money for 30x30. Follow her training journey...

"These next years are crucial for nature’s recovery. The 30x30 campaign calls for urgent action and puts the biodiversity and climate crises at the forefront of decision making. There are many ways we can help as individuals, groups and businesses, to raise awareness of this challenge and the need to put nature at the heart of our own decisions."

Imogen's story

Imogen organised a virtual WILD concert during the pandemic, to raise money for our internationally important Skomer Island Nature Reserve.

“I enjoyed being a WILD Fundraiser because I love playing my instruments and it can benefit wildlife on Skomer at the same time.”

Become a #WILDFundraiser

1. Sign up as a #WILDFundraiser

Complete this form to express your interest in fundraising. Our Fundraising Officer will then be in touch with you!

Under 16? We welcome all ages of WILD Fundraisers, however, if the #WILDFundraiser is under the age of 16, please ensure that the parent/guardian gets in touch.

2. Pick your challenge and get planning!

You can do whatever you like to raise money and here are some ideas to inspire you.

  • Walk for wildlife - explore wildlife on your doorstep as part of your #WILDFundraiser challenge and get sponsored for each step you take.
  • Bake for wildlife -  organise a wild coffee morning or garden tea party.

You don’t have to undertake a traditional challenge or fundraising activity – the wilder the better!

3. Decide where to donate

The best way you can support us is to donate to The Wildlife Trust of South & West Wales so we can allocate the funds to where they are most needed at that time. But, if there is a specific project, reserve or appeal you'd like to support let us know. Our Fundraising Officer will let you know the best way of donating.

4. Shout loud about it!

Once you’ve decided on your WILD challenge, spread the word online!

We love to see and share your fundraisers so be sure to tag us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using the #WILDFundraiser hashtag.
