Red Squirrel Day, Wednesday 2nd November 2022.
Join us and our Wildlife Trust Red Squirrel Project Officer, Sarah Purdon on Wednesday 2nd November to find out what we do to protect this charismatic species and how you can help! We’ll also have squirrel clay modelling for a small fee and lots of squirrel themed gifts available. Author and Wildlife Trust friend, Fiona Lunn has kindly donated copies of her awesome ‘The Squirrel’ audio book, ‘Y Wiwer’ Welsh language book and notecards for us to sell in order to raise funds for our conservation work.
We are very grateful for this support, thank you.
Bon Voyage to Martin and a warm welcome to Greg!
The Visitor Centre recently said goodbye to our lovely retail manager Martin Jones and we would like to thank him for all his hard work here over the years. However, we are excited to have appointed a new Greg Ellis as our new Retail Manager. So come to the gift shop to meet him and look out for changes in store and on the web shop soon. As always there will be fantastic locally made items, wildlife themed gifts and seasonal clothing.
Hello Sweetie Pie!
The Glasshouse Café will be selling a superb range of main meals (until 2:30pm) plus delicious desserts, snacks, cakes, ice creams and drinks, catering for all dietary requirements. Seating is available indoors or outside overlooking our beautiful reed beds and woodland, stunning in their autumn colours.
The nature reserve and visitor centre are free to enter with just £4 to pay for all day parking. The reserve has a variety of trails to explore, many of which are accessible. There are bird hides from which to look out for the resident kingfishers and otters and a children’s natural play area for them to run off excess energy. Guide books for just £2.50 give bi-lingual details of all the trails and habitats that you can explore on your visit.
Dogs are welcome on the reserve if kept on leads to protect the local wildlife and please do use the dog bins for disposing of dog waste.
Remember that any money you spend with us goes towards the conservation of precious habitats and maintaining the reserve.
Thank you for your support!
