At Brynmill Community Centre in Swansea members of the community have come together to change a neglected space at the back of the Centre into a place where nature can thrive!

At Brynmill Community Centre in Swansea members of the community have come together to change a neglected space at the back of the Centre into a place where nature can thrive!

With the support of The Wildlife Trust of South & West Wales the group have been focusing on planting pollinator friendly flowers, herbs for the kitchen and edible plants for volunteers to take home. Work has also been carried out on renovating the dry stone wall which provides habitat for invertebrates, lichens and mosses.

This project runs as part of the Nextdoor Nature project which focuses on providing communities in highly urbanised areas of Swansea with the advice and support they need to help nature on their doorstep.

The group aims to invite local schools to the garden, to share the produce and introduce children to gardening, insect holes and more.

The garden is open to the public so if you find yourself in Brynmill, Swansea, pop down!
